The Big Butterfly Count is happening now. We are looking for as many keen visitors as possible to take part in this important survey to help count all of the butterfly and moth species that we get here at the sanctuary. Ask for an ID sheet in the shop from today until the 9th of August or download the app to log your sightings. We look forward to finding out what species you discover on your search around site.

• We will be at the @cornwall_museum on three Friday’s this summer (31st July, 14th August & 28th August) to join them for their Cornish Myths and Legends event. Our owls will be modelling for a sketching session and we would love to see any drawings you create on the day.

• On the 21st August 2026 6pm to 9pm we will be collaborating with Dark Cornwall to host a special wildlife drawing session . Admission by ticket only. Book your place at: darkcornwall.com/events.
