Screech Owl Sanctuary & Animal Park is committed to ‘Access for All’.
We believe that by creating an environment free from barriers and obstacles we can ensure our facilities, services and the environment are fully accessible to all. We want everyone to enjoy their visit to the sanctuary and endeavor to make everything accessible.
As we have rebuilt our enclosures we have ensured access is wheelchair friendly to provide accessibility for all to some of our encounters.
We offer free entry for a carer with a full paying cared for person.
The site is wheelchair friendly and accessible to motorised scooters. We provide reserved accessible parking near the entrance, and have a wheelchair on site which can be pre-booked. The site is mostly on a flat level with hard surfaces for wheelchair users, and we have double door access into all of the building, with seats and benches all around the site for persons with walking difficulties.
Fully trained special assistance dogs are welcome around the site wearing their identifying jackets, but must not be in the flying area during the displays. Assistance dog visits should be pre-booked.
Accessible toilet is fitted with hand rails and raised toilet seat, low level wash basins and there is an alarm cord if assistance is required.
The Tearoom caters for special dietary requirements on request with vegetarian dishes to gluten free options
There are baby changing facilities available and the tearoom will deal with heating up food or bottles if required.
Risk assessments and Health & Safety policies are updated regularly and we have qualified First Aid persons to ensure our visitors safety and well-being.
We are proud to support a variety of community groups & schools in their work with disabled adults and children.
