OPENING UPDATE
SCREECH OWL SANCTUARY TO OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FROM 6th JULY 2020
Since our last update in early June, the Government has issued a whole range of guidelines and there has been lot of paperwork to get our heads around as we seek to assess the site and implement all the extra precautions and procedures required in these unusual times.
We are very excited to be able to announce that we will be opening to the public on Monday 6th July 2020. Things are going to be different and you will notice changes on site.
The key area of difference is that under Government Directives we are not allowed to offer any animal contact experiences. There will be signage to request that you do not pet any of the animals. Owl Close Encounters & Animal Encounters will be talks only with the keeper standing a socially acceptable distance from visitors. Visitors will not be allowed to touch with the owls & other animals. Flying displays will take place, though if in the barn (due to poor weather) additional social distancing measures will be required.
We will operate a queuing system for entry and will limit the number of visitors on site to maintain social distancing. You will notice a lot more signage around site and in addition to our handwashing stations additional opportunities for hand sanitisation.
Contactless payment will be encouraged.
The playground and tearoom will be open and appropriate measures will be in place to ensure social distancing and good hygiene can be maintained.
Adjusting to this new normal is not easy for any us but we hope that you will enjoy your visit.
We do ask for the safety of all involved that you do not visit us if you or a member of your household are showing symptoms of coronavirus
