As some of you know the sanctuary has been up for sale for just over a year and it is nearly 30 years since we the founded Screech Owl Sanctuary and became the guardians of the owls. It is inevitable that we would have to leave at some point and there would never be a right time for us to go, but as we are now getting older we felt it was much better to plan our departure properly to ensure our work continued in the future.

The date for our departure has now been set for 20^th December and we would like to introduce you all to Dr Kevin Hopkins and his wife Karen and their family Tamar and Isaac who will be the new custodians of the owls.

They are not planning any radical changes to the business but hope to build on the work already done in the areas of Conservation, Rehabilitation and Education and will naturally bring something of themselves to the party in time,  but the transition will very much be “business as usual”.

The plan is for me to remain involved at the sanctuary to assist with a smooth transition and offer advice and support when required.
