On June 27th we held our 25th celebration which was well attended by sponsors, invited guests and visitors and the day was hosted by Ian McNeice. The Anniversary day was a huge success, and was attended by over 500 people including sponsors and long term supporters.
The weather was glorious which was a great relief to us all, after all the preparation and hard work everyone put in beforehand.
Dick Twinney the wildlife artist who has been a keen supporter of the sanctuary and good friend over the years did a beautiful painting of a local Barn owl to commemorate the 25th Anniversary, and very kindly donated print No.1 of 25 for the raffle on the day. Dick also attended the day with his lovely wife Ann and was painting wildlife for the visitors. We also had Harry Kazzam a really entertaining magician who conducted 2 shows for the youngsters throughout the day. After the lunch time flying display my brother Gary introduced the speeches and talked about the early history, and then introduced Ian McNeice (Bert Large from Doc Martin) who gave a speech about the conservation work we have done over the 25 years. At the end of the presentations our manager Kevin gave a speech on behalf of all the staff, and presented us with a lovely gift which we will always treasure.
Wow what a great milestone!!
